Becky Kohl of Greenstarfish Consulting has been creating and managing web sites and web applications for 10+ years. She is also a fourth-generation Fairfield County business owner (on both sides of her family!). Becky graduated from Wellesley College, a women's college in Massachusetts. Here's an illustrative story about Wellesley: In 1886 Winifred Edgerton (graduate of Wellesley, 1883) received a PhD from Columbia University in practical astronomy and mathematics. She was the first woman to be awarded a degree from that institution. It was reported that one group of students tried to dissuade her participation in a Celestial Mechanics class by requesting that the professor use the most difficult text available. The book chosen was the one that Ms. Edgerton had used as an undergraduate at Wellesley. |
